Lisa is running to serve as the state Senator for Ashford, Chaplin, Coventry, Eastford, Ellington, Hampton, Pomfret, Stafford, Tolland, Union, Vernon, Willington, and Woodstock.
Lisa Thomas has served on the Coventry Town Council for 11 years, and she also serves on the Coventry Finance Subcommittee. She has been an active member of the Coventry Democratic Town Committee since 2005.
Lisa has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vassar College and a Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Lisa has a background in both labor and employment law, and she is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association.
Lisa is a special education teacher — a role she has held for 35 years, in both the Hebron and Windsor school systems. In May 2020, Lisa was named Teacher of the Year at Clover Street School in Windsor.
As a lifelong public school teacher, Lisa knows that each of us needs and deserves to be heard. When she first ran for local office, she was inspired by her love and support for education. After 6 terms as Coventry Councilwoman fighting for constituent needs, Lisa will be a strong advocate in the Senate to bring increased attention and support to our region.
